In a recent message from eBay they announced some dramatic reductions in their listing fees. Could it be because of the recession or are they feeling the heat from sites like Beezid that feature “Penny Auctions”.
Here are the changes that eBay as implemented and some that will take effect on March 30, 2010:
Free Listings for 5 Items
Selling on eBay is about to get better than ever when it comes to earning extra cash. Today, you can list up to 5 items a month Auction-style free–and pay only if your item sells. Starting March 30, you’ll be able to list your items Auction-Style free–up to 100 items a month–when you set your starting price under $1. If your item sells, you pay one easy Final Value Fee. So get ready to list more and put more cash in your pocket! Start thinking now about what you can sell.
New Buyer Protection program
Use that extra cash from selling to get what you really want on eBay. Now, on top of the great deals, we’ve got you covered. Wow, I think the free listing is a great idea and I might actually take advantage of it, because there are a few things I would like to sell. This has always been one of the reasons I haven’t messed with it too much, instead using Craigslist, as the auction costs/listing costs have always seemed a little excessive.
