Monitoring The Blogosphere

January 30, 2009 · Filed Under Making Money, Reviews, Writing Copy

Did you ever wonder how some bloggers seem to know everything that is going on in the blogosphere. They’re the bloggers that seem to break the story on new stuff. Of course, they subscribe to a lot of RSS feeds, and I mean “A Lot” of feeds. Monitoring the blogosphere is how the big guys got big.

However, you still need to wade through all the feed posts to see what you can use or want. That can be a full-time job of its own. Successful bloggers have a staff to help with this and many of them get the heads-up from their subscribers or other heavy hitters in their good old boys (GOB) club.

You say you don’t have a staff. You’re not a charter member of a GOB club. You must be busier than a one-legged man in an ass kicking contest. I know I use to be until I found this nifty little piece of software called Blog Talk Monitor. It’s FREE. Yes, I said free.

You enter the keywords that you want and Blog Talk Monitor scours the web using Google and Technorati search capabilities to bring you everything that is going on that has your keywords in it. It even lets you see the blogs right in its own browser window. Pretty sweet! No jumping back and forth between Blog Monitor and your regular browser.

You do NOT need to register. Just go and download it now and give it a whirl. Here are a couple of screenshots of mine working while I’m writing this post. So cool. One of the things I was following today was Press Releases. I was going to make a video but I haven’t got a handle on the screen capture software I bought a few days ago. Maybe I’ll fool around with it over the weekend and see what’s what. In the mean time screenshots will have to do.

Blog found about press releases.

See the “Preview This Post” in the lower right corner of the screenshots? When you click on it, it opens up in a browser so you can look at the whole blog.

Do you want to be the one breaking the news about what’s going on in your niche? You do if you want to grow your blog and your income. Monitoring the blogosphere doesn’t have to be a full-time job. Marketing should be the task you spend your time on, not surfing the web.

It is not this bad!Read it again. Please!B- to C+ ?You are terrific!I will click some ads for you. (No Ratings Yet)
