Polaris Puts Google Analytics On Your Desktop

May 1, 2009 · Filed Under SEO, Site Improvement

A few days ago I ran across a new API application called Polaris from Desktop Reporting that puts Google Analytics on your desktop so you don’t need to continually log-in to Google to check your stats. Polaris uses the new Adobe Air API interface. Polaris and Adobe Air are both free.

I wrote a post titled “Post Time“, a few months back, in which I talked about using web statistics applications to track what time of day your blog traffic was greatest. And, then time your posts to publish shortly before the traffic peak, so your readers will get their fix of your pithy wit.

Google Analytics was one of the stat applications I endorsed. Now with the Polaris application it is much easier and quicker to check you data. Analytics has a feature where you can have email notices when your reports were ready to be reviewed. I used that feature for a few years, but I still needed to log-in to my Google account and retrieve the reports. Polaris gives 8 of the most popular reports available through Google Analytics.

If you track your stats using Google Analytics, try Polaris on your desktop. You have nothing to lose as it’s free.

  2. This is one of the best adobe air application I have come across. Now I use two adobe air application excessively “tweetdeck” and “Polaris”
It helped me to easily keep track of popular keywords from my blog and I can use them as anchor text to increase ranking.

I will highly recommend this application for all the Google analytic user.

  8. If you can’t access your site when polaris is running there is problem with your server software. Are you on a Windows based server or linux? Windows based servers don’t work well with this addon.
