The best way to leverage MySpace is to truly immerse yourself in the community and interact with others. MySpace has over 100 million people and is growing every day. And they’re not all teenagers chatting about music and movies, either! In fact, it’s recently been estimated that 47% of the community is over 35 years old. So if you’re targeting grown-ups, don’t worry that there might not be a big enough audience.
MySpace is more of a blog than Squidoo, and it’s important to reach out to community and pull them into your page. You’ll have comments left for you and you’ll need to visit other pages and leave comments. They’re all hyperlinked to help exchange traffic. When you use MySpace, it’s best to lure visitors away from your MySpace page before you use a hard-selling tactic on them. For instance, you can create a free report and offer it to your readers, linking them to your domain. When they land on your domain, they can opt-in to your subscriber list to get the report and then you can contact them later for marketing purposes.
